ONE YEAR BIBLE 49 - RESTORING YOUR FIRST LOVE
I. Illustrating the Power of A "First Love" Experience.
We live in a culture of Romance Addiction.
The over-stimulation produces Romance Fatigue.
We must cultivate passion along with perseverance.
II. Understanding the Power of a First Love Experience.
Jesus gives John a message for the Church in Ephesus. Rev.2:1
This church had endured many challenges serving God.
Yet, they had forsaken a First Love attitude. Vs. 4
"First Love" is a posture of passionate priority.
Hosea illustrated God's first love and Israel's unfaithfulness.
Hosea is told to marry a prostitute as a parable. Ho. 1:2
They have children and she departs for another. Vs.4-1O
He buys her bock and prophesies God's enduring love.3:1-5
Hosea's calls the people to receive correction and turn to God.
He appeals to the people to return to the Lard. 5:13-6:3
He provides the antidote for their waywardness. 10:12
He promises restoration as they turn to the Lord. 14:4
III. How to Restore a First Love Relationship with God. Rev.2
REMEMBER: The power of your first love experience of God.
Reliving the memory wiII restore the experience.
Renounce any hopelessness that restoration is possible.
REPENT: Change your thinking about your current lifestyle.
Even if backslidden, you are closer now than before.
God's grace is abundantly available to transform us.
DO: It's not primarily about feeling but about willing.
Marriage saves love. The grass is always greener .
Do the things a lover does and feelings will follow .
III. Questions to Ponder. Read Bible passages and discuss.
1). Jesus commends the church for their perseverance but corrects them for their lack of "First Love" What is First Love. What's the difference between First Love and Perseverance?
2) How does Hosea's message harmonize with the word to the Ephesians?
Describe the state of your passion for God. How can you improve?

Summer of Love 6 - The Kingdom of Redepmtive Love

I. Illustrating the Importance of Regional Redemptive Gifts.
God’s favor is on San Francisco in an unusual way.
Cindy Jacob is speaking about Redemptive Gifts.
God’s purpose in Christ is to restore his purposes on earth.
II. Understanding the Redemptive Purposes of God. Col. 1:13-20
God has redeemed us from the authority of the evil one. Vs.13
Our position has been permanently altered
We now stand among the Beloved Son as sons.
Through His blood we have been bought back.
Jesus is the Visible Image of the Invisible God.
All things were made by Him, both visible and invisible.
All things are held together by Him.
All things are under his Headship. He is preeminent.
Principalities influence human thought and behavior. Vs.16
Jesus made all powers in heaven and on earth.
Heavenly powers are invisible, earthly are visible.
What is the relationship between the visible and invisible?
III. How to Participate in the Reconciliation of All Things to Jesus.
The Purpose of God is to Restore His Redemptive Purpose.
The catalyst for reconciliation is the Cross… vs.20
The ultimate reconciliation will come when He returns.
Until that time, we work to bring His Kingdom to earth.
Intercessory Prayer: essential to restoring God’s redemptive will.
Principalities are impacted through prayer. Dan.10:12-14
Prophetic Preparation: we need be equipped to bring transformation.
Paul taught for two years before revival in Ephesus. Acts 19:10
Strategic Positioning: we need to leverage our position for the Kingdom.
Paul was positioned in the marketplace, prison and before Kings.

I. Illustrating the Challenge of Walking with the God of the Impossible
We are grateful for all the miracles God has been doing.
Yet we continue to press into God for more of His blessing.
The primary enemy of faith is not unbelief but memory.•
II. Understanding the Workings of the God of the Impossible - Ju.6:11
A. God chooses an Impossible Candidate to deliver His people - Gideon.
Gideon was a man filled with insecurity and inadequacy. Vs. 11-17
He began with small challenges and gradually increased. Vs. 25-27
He continually needs reassurance that God is with Him. Vs. 36-37
B. God chooses an Impossible Community to accomplish His will. Ju. 7:2
God reduces the community so that He receives the Glory. Vs. 3
God reduces the community army again to 300 men. Vs. 4-7
The God of the Impossible loves to overcome impossible odds.
C. God presents an Impossible Challenge to reveal His Power.
God gives Gideon an unlikely strategy to win the battle. Vs. 16-18
God gives Gideon's men confidence and grace to obey. Vs. 20-21
God brings about a great victory in spite of the odds. Vs. 22
III. How to Walk in Partnership with the God of the Impossible. Lu.22
We must choose to obey God in spite of the difficulties, Lu. 22: 40-47
Even Jesus struggled to obey God as He faced crucifixion.
Be prepared to struggle but be prepared to prevail.
We must stand together as a ragtag army and obey God's strategies.
The disciples were commissioned to victory. Lu.24:36-39, 46-49
We need to wait before God until we are clothed with Power.
We must continue in Faith and Endurance until the victory is secured.
God has a destiny for each of us and for our community.
Let's continue to pursue His will until He brings it to Pass
